Perfect Break are producers of Organic Wines, based in Margaret River. Drawing inspiration from the wine makers passion for surfing and also an activity synonymous with the region, we developed a label that was very unique in terms of the die cut, to emphasize the breaking wave.
Cupcakes For Lucy are an exclusively Gluten free baker based in Perth, Western Australia. They approached granddog to rebrand their business as they were looking to break into the commercial retail market and needed to give their existing logo a facelift and also develop a range of packaging, suitable for a range of products different in sizes and quantities... Challenge accepted! We were of course also treated to delicious samples... all in the name of research... of course! To create an upmarket and exclusive brand we developed the brand utilising a custom script logo font and then using a palette of gold, black and white. To inject a bit of Eddie, the Owner's dry sense of humour, we crafted some cheeky one liners for the packaging. The packaging itself was pared back to a minimalist look in order to show off the products.
Orange Grove (South Africa’s largest Independent Dairy) was looking to enter the fiercely competitive traditional African “Maas” (Sour Milk) drinks market. In the past this market was dominated by very simple packaging and was branded with traditional gourds and pots, so the approach Granddog developed for Orange Grove was completely unique in the category and very different the to the norm. Due to a large percentage of the Target Market being semi literate, we utilised silhouettes of the product benefits - Giving you energy, keeping you alert, improving stamina so that it would be immediately identifiable what the drink did for you. This approach was very favourably received by the target market and the result was a gain of significant market share and an increase in sales, so much so that the dairy couldn’t keep up with demand.
